Juanita Virginia Nagely

Juanita Virginia Nagely Juanita Virginia (Shirack) Nagely, 97, passed away December 29, 2018 at the Enterprise Estates Nursing Home. She was born March 19, 1921, the daughter of George and Gladys (Wilson) Shirack. She was born in Garfield Township, Dickinson County, south of Solomon, Kansas. She grew-up and attended schools in the area including Ash Grove and Garfield elementary schools south of Solomon and graduated from Solomon High School in 1939.

After high school, she worked for the McLellan and Sears Stores in Salina before she married Milton Nagely of Abilene, on October 22, 1941. They lived and farmed all of their married life in the Mt. Pleasant community. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Evangelical Presbyterian Church and E.P.W. of the church.

Juanita was preceded in death by her beloved husband on August 5, 2007; parents; and two sisters, Dorothy Peterson, and husband Maynard, and Janeice Ileen Shirack, who died in infancy.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Arnold Nagely (Judy), Marysville; Donald Nagely (Joetta), Abilene; two daughters, Kathleen Nagely, Salina; and Donna Gantz (Howard), Kingman; eight grandchildren: Mark Nagely (Jennifer), Sabetha; Neal Nagely, Dallas, TX; Dr. Scott Nagely, Denver, CO; Leann Gillespie (Brian), Leawood; David Gantz (Brittany), Shawnee; Bret Nagely (Alex), Abilene; Jordon Nagely (Hanna), Abilene; and Krystal Gantz Fensky (Travis), Lenexa; eleven great-grandchildren: Dr. Jacob Nagely (Allison), Salina; Rob Nagely (Leah), Shawnee; Anna and Matthew Gillespie, Leawood; Jaxson, Dayson, Colter, Renli, and Josephine Nagely, Abilene; and Benjamin and Lois Gantz, Shawnee; two great great-grandchildren, Jase and Quinn Nagely, Salina; special niece & Godchild Dianne Ogle, Mustang, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives, along with a host of friends.

Visitation will be January 1, 2019 from 5:30 - 6:30 PM at the Danner Funeral Home. Funeral will be Wednesday, January 2nd at 10:30 at the Mt. Pleasant Evangelical Presbyterian Church, south of Abilene, with the Rev. Mark Stanger presiding. . Burial will be in the Green Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her honor to the Mt. Pleasant Evangelical Presbyterian Church or Dickinson County Hospice. Memorials may be mailed to the Danner Funeral Home, PO Box 758, Abilene, KS 67410.
