Darin H. Stepanek

Darin H. Stepanek Darin Harold Stepanek, 53, Enterprise, Kansas, went home to be with his Lord after a long battle with multiple sclerosis on Saturday, December 8, 2018.
Darin was born on December 17, 1964 in Marengo, Iowa to William Stepanek and Ruth Voelkel. As a child he moved to Linn, Kansas where he graduated from Linn High School and Beloit Area Vocational Technical School.
On September 29, 1984 Darin married Alice Rhine in Haddam, Kansas. The couple was blessed with five children.
Darin served with the Navy Submarine service as a missile technician for six years before being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and being medically retired in 1992.
On December 23, 1990, Darin accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and from that time on until his MS took away his ability to talk, he spent his time sharing with others what the Lord had done for him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Voelkel and an infant grandson, EzraSchiffbauer.
Survivors include his wife Alice of Enterprise, daughters, Laura (Jonathon) Lumpkin, Qingdao, China, Angela (Daniel) Schiffbauer, Leavenworth, Kansas, Rebekah (Jedidiah) Phillips, Salina, Kansas, and Emma Stepanek of the home, and one son, Caleb Stepanek, Enterprise, Kansas; father and step mother, Bill and Sharon Stepanek, Minneapolis Kansas; brothers Jon, Larry, and Steve; sister, Cheri Brumwell, and grandchildren Jaedyn, Brooke, and Kinsley Lumpkin, Ashley, Malachi, Micah, Joseph, and Simeon Schiffbauer, and Keegan, Kyleigh, and Kaydence Phillips.
The family will receive friends 5:30 - 6:30 pm Thursday, December 13th at the Danner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, December 14th at the Abilene Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Carson Johnson officiating. Private family interment will take place at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions in his memory be made to his children's education fund. They may be left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas 67410 or left at the church the day of the service.
