Marvin W. Cole

Marvin W. Cole Marvin W. Cole, 87, passed away Friday, August 3rd, in Abilene. He was born December 14, 1930 in Abilene, the son of Milton G. and Sophia E. (Heer) Cole. Growing up in Abilene, Marvin attended local schools. In 1955 he married Shirley Lynn, later divorcing. In 1980 he married Linda Trent. All of their married life has been spent in Abilene. Marvin had been a mechanic and truck driver before owning and operating Rainbow Paint and Gutter and Sweet Daddy's Restaurant. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Steve and a granddaughter, Amy Nappier. Marvin enjoyed playing 5 point pitch and was a member of Elks.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of Abilene; six daughters, Penny Keim of Hobbs, New Mexico, Phyllis Mattingly of Hobbs, New Mexico, Karen Morton of Abilene, Connie Critchfield of Montgomery, Texas, Tammy Stapp of Fort Worth, Texas, Kimberly Thompson of Louisville, Kentucky; three sons, Dennis Cole of Lawrence, Rick Shaw of Abilene and Christopher Trent of Salina; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 8th, at the Danner Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Kohler officiating. Interment will follow in the Farmington Cemetery northeast of Abilene. The family will receive friends 5:30 - 6:30 PM Tuesday, August 7th, at the Danner Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions in his name be made to the V.A. or Dickinson County Hospice. They may be left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home, POB 758, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
