Glen E. Stoffer

Glen E. Stoffer Glen E. Stoffer, 92, passed away Saturday, May 12th, in Wamego. He was born October 2, 1925 north of Detroit, the son of Charles E. and Charolotte B. (Issitt) Stoffer. Growing up in the area, Glen attended local schools and graduated from Chapman High School with the class of 1944. On January 27, 1952, he married Pauline M. Beetch in Carlton. All of their married life was spent farming north of Detroit. Glen was involved in many community activities and committees, working with youth in 4-H and following his family's activities. Pauline preceded him in death July 23, 2015. He enjoyed gardening, reading and sports. Glen was also preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Evelyn Long and Dorothy Stoffer, in childhood.
He is survived by a daughter, Janet (Leon) Sylvester of Wamego; two sons, Curtis (Peggy) Stoffer of Abilene, Charles (Linda) Stoffer of Chapman; six grandchildren, Jennifer Hasenbank of Abilene, Julene (Joel) DeRouchey of St. Marys, Jason (Rebecca) Stoffer ofAbilene, Andrew (Laura) Sylvester of Wamego, Aaron (Claire) Sylvester of Wamego, Charlotte (Ben) Howenstein of Austin, TX; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 16th at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church with Pastor Gordon McClure officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery north of Abilene. The family will receive friends 5:30 - 6:30 PM Tuesday, May 15th, at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church. The family suggests memorial contributions in his name be made to The Emmanuel United Methodist Church or Vintage Park of Wamego.
