Lawrence D. Lehner

Lawrence D. Lehner Lawrence D. Lehner, 82, passed away Sunday, May 6th, in Abilene. He was born May 2, 1936 in Geary County, the son of Herman and Agnes (Harloff) Lehner. Growing up in the area, Lawrence attended local schools and graduated from Chapman High School with the class of 1954. On December 31, 1961, he married Chassie Foster in Abilene. The early years of their marriage was spent in Abilene before moving to the Talmage community in 1968. Lawrence had been employed by the Kansas Department of Transportation and ran a swather for Warren Wilson Hay Company. He retired from Kansas Department of Transportation in November of 1993. Chassie preceded him in death October 5, 2014. Lawrence was a member of the National Guard Council Grove. He was also preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Fred and Harold Lehner.
Lawrence is survived by three daughters, Gladys Lehner of Meriden, Lesley (Lon Faidley) Heath of Solomon, Tina (Darrel Woods) Lehner of Junction City; four grandchildren; sister, Mary Conrow of Junction City; and brother, Clarence Lehner of Chapman.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Monday, May 14th, at the Danner Funeral Home with Pastor Lindsey Brummer officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairiedale Cemetery north of Talmage. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday, May 13th, at the Danner Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions in his name be made to Hospice of Dickinson County.
