Marjorie Marie Emig
Marjorie Marie Emig, 87, passed away Wednesday, August 24th, in Abilene. She was born December 15, 1928 in Talmage, the daughter of Orin Irvin and Olive Grace (Logan) Beadleston. Growing up in the area, Marjorie attended local schools and graduated from Abilene High School. On June 22, 1954, she was married to Merle Henry Emig. All of their married life was spent in Abilene. He preceded her in death in 1990. Marjorie enjoyed volunteering at her church, the Abilene Food and Clothing Pantry and the Red Cross Blood Mobile. She was also preceded in death by a son, Bruce Emig, her parents, and two brothers, Keith and Alvin Beadleston.
Marjorie is survived by: a daughter. June (Marius) Le Roux of Abilene; a son, Irvin (Mary Lou Welter) Emig of Iowa City, Iowa; two sisters, Verna Cook and Clema Anderson; five grandchildren, Clinton, Jessica and Cody Emig and Kelly and Karly Marlatt and six great-grandchildren, Tyesha, Logan, Hayden and Madelyn Emig, Kammiaya Evans and Lillian Nitz.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, August 29th, at the Danner Funeral Home with Revs. John and Jenny Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Abilene Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:30 - 2:30 PM Sunday, August 28th, at the Danner Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions in her name be made to the Abilene First United Methodist Church.
