Charlotte A. "Charlie" (Gillespie-Reeves) Larson
Charlotte A. "Charlie" (Gillespie-Reeves) Larson, 77, passed away Friday, July 22nd, in Salina. She was born May 26, 1939 in Blue Rapids, Kansas the daughter of Robert U and Ethel E. (Brandt) Gillespie. Growing up in Abilene, Charlie attended local schools. She was married to Bill Reeves in 1964, later divorcing. Charlie had been employed as a waitress in Salina, a machinist for Federal Mogul, a clerk at Priem's Pride Motel in Abilene and as a clerk in Salina motels. On February 12, 2014, she married Martin Larson in Abilene. Charlie enjoyed her grandchildren, eating out, thrift stores and dancing. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Charlie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Abilene.
She is survived by: her husband, Martin Larson; a son John (Heidi) Reeves; a sister Lola (Wade) Needham; a brother Bill (Cindy) Gillespie and two granddaughters, Raelynn and Jauni Reeves all of Abilene.
Charlie had requested cremation. The family will hold a celebration of her life from 1:00 - 4:00 PM Saturday, August 6th, at the Abilene Senior Citizens' Center. The family suggests memorial contributions in her name be made to her grandchildren's education fund. They may be left at the Senior Citizen's Center the day of the visitation or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas 67410.
