Frank H. Lehman
Frank H. Lehman, 84, passed away Monday, June 27th, in Wakefield. He was born Frank Henry Lehman, May 19, 1932, in Topeka, the son of Harry and Minnie (Hutchison) Lehman. Growing up on his parents’ dairy farm south of Abilene, he attended local schools, was active in sports, playing football and running track in high school and graduated from Dickinson County Community High School (DCCHS) with the class of 1950. After high school Frank enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving four years from 1952 – 1956, including naval bases in California, Alaska and the Philippines. In 1954, while still in the Navy, he married Mary Anne Gfeller in Abilene. While stationed in the Philippines, their first child, Deanna, was born in California. Frank and Mary had six children. Following his service in the Navy, Frank returned to Abilene where the family made its home west of Abilene and raised their six children. He had been employed by Vacu-Blast for many years and later worked for Abrasive Blast Systems, both in Abilene. Frank also had his own welding business. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and beekeeping.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Deanna Lehman and Sandra Howard. He is survived by: one brother, Paul (Dorothy) Lehman; four sons, Roger, David, Thomas and Michael (Stacey) Lehman; seven grandsons, Kalen Howard, Kenton Howard, Blaise Lehman, Brock Lehman, Brogan Lehman, Lucas Lehman, and Bentley Lehman and two great-grandsons, Hayden Howard, Rylan Howard
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, July 1st, at the Danner Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Stanger officiating. Interment will follow in the Abilene Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:30 – 6:30 PM Thursday at the Danner Funeral Home.
