Ralph W. Snyder
97, passed away Saturday, January 23rd, in Abilene. He was born December 1, 1918 in northern Dickinson County, the son of Herman and Mildred (Fouse) Snyder. Growing up in the area, Ralph attended local schools and graduated from Dickinson County High School in Chapman with the class of 1937. In 1943 he was drafted into the Army Air Corps and retired from the Air Force in 1965 as a Lieutenant Colonel. On July 17, 1954 Ralph married Lucille Patterson in Ontario, California. They made their home in Azusa, California until retiring in 1965 and moving back to Dickinson county to buy a farm near Talmage in 1969. In 1997 they moved to Abilene. Lucille preceded him in death March 7, 1998. Ralph enjoyed his travels to over 60 countries, raising Simmental cattle and supporting the Talmage Community. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Avis Lane and a brother, Estel Snyder. Ralph was a member of the Talmage United Methodist Church, American Legion, V.F.W., Lions Club, Prairiedale Cemetery Board, CO-OP, and 4-H Community Leaders.

Ralph had requested cremation. A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, January 29th, at the Talmage United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Stout officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Prairiedale Cemetery north of Talmage. Memorial contributions in his name are suggested to the Talmage United Methodist Church.
