Bruce F. Sexton
82, passed away Sunday, June 7th, in Abilene. He was born August 31, 1932 in Abilene, the son of Benjamin and Agnes (Forrester) Sexton. Growing up in Abilene, Bruce attended local Schools, graduated from Abilene High School and attended St. Benedictine College and Emporia State University. On August 23, 1952 he married Suzanne Conklin. All of their married life was spent farming south of Abilene. She preceded him in death April 20, 2006. Bruce was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Helen Sexton; a granddaughter Carly Gassman and a brother Robert Sexton. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting and fishing, the sand hills, cooking and reading and writing. Bruce was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, June 13th, at the St. Andrews Catholic Church with Fr. Henry Baxa officiating. A private family inurnment will follow at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, June 12th, at the Danner Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions in his name be given to the St. Andrews Elementary School or the Abilene Public Library.
