Gordon L. Kuntz
Gordon Lee Kuntz, 75, of Abilene, entered eternal life on Wednesday, April 8, 2015.
He was born August 15. 1939 to Harry and Laura (Longenecker) Kuntz of the Buckeye Community. He attended eight grades at the East Buckeye School and graduated from Dickinson County Community High School (Chapman) with the class of 1957.
On October 24, 1965, he was married to Linda Gaskill. All their married life was spent on the farm north of Abilene.
His life and his passion was farming and ranching.
Gordon served six years in the Army Reserve reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a member of the Abilene Emmanuel United Methodist Church, serving on numerous committees and work missions to the Navajo Reservation, a charter member of the Buckeye Saddle Club, a member of the Abilene Gideon Camp, served on the Talmage CO-OP and Farm Bureau Boards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers-in-law, Jim Gaskill and Roger Peters and sister-in-law, Christie Kuntz.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Linda Kuntz of Abilene; Daughter Kristen (Gerald) Schmalzried and their children Laine and Aaron of Raymore, Missouri; Son Dusty (Gina) Kuntz and their children Raycelon, Ryder, Rowdy and Riggin of Abilene; son Travis (Kristen) Kuntz and their daughter Lorelai of Abilene; sister, Alta Book; brother, Roland Kuntz; sisters-in-law Lisa Peters and Candy Gaskill; brother-in-law Orrin Book and numerous aunts, uncles cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, April 13th, at the Abilene Emmanuel United Methodist Church with Pastor Shane Britt officiating. Interment will follow in the Union (Livingston) Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday, April 12th, at the Abilene Emmanuel United Methodist Church. The family suggests memorial contributions in his memory be made to the Abilene Emmanuel United Methodist Church or the Gideons. They may be left at the church the day of the visitation or service or left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas.
