Doris “Dee” Watson
74, passed away Friday, November 7th, in Salina after a brief illness. She was born January 12, 1940 in Abilene, the daughter of C.D. “Dean” and Doris Irene (Pooler) Issitt. Growing up in Abilene, Dee attended local schools and graduated from Abilene High School with the class of 1958. On December 12, 1958 she married Wesley W. “Wes” Watson in Hutchinson. All their married life was spent in Abilene. Dee had been employed by the Abilene Flour Mill, Abilene First National Bank, Abilene Memorial Hospital, Abilene Citizen’s Bank and Abilene High School. She enjoyed needlepoint, cross stitch, knitting, sewing, playing the piano and organ and doing volunteer work. Dee was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Keith Issitt; and a grand-daughter, Mae Watson.

The family has chosen cremation. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 to 6:00 PM Saturday, November 15th, at the Abilene Tourists and Visitors Center. The family suggests memorial contributions in her name be made to the Abilene Food Pantry or the Elsie Brooks Cancer Fund.
