Donald Paul Gormley Sr.

66, passed away Saturday, September 6th, in Abilene after a long illness. He was born February 15, 1948 in Abilene, the son of L. Paul and Vivian L. (Koelling) Gormley. Growing up in Talmage, Don attended Talmage Grade School and graduated from Dickinson County High School with the class of 1966. He served in the U.S. Air Force, Strategic Command, Supply Squadron on both the domestic and Asian fronts during the Vietnam war from 1966 to 1970 and Inactive Reserve from 1970 to 1972. He married Keisha Murray, later divorcing. Don lived in Idaho during his working career working construction including building log homes. He loved the outdoors, the mountains, hunting, fishing and trapping serving as a hunting guide in the Elk City, Idaho area. Don was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Wava Buckley; an infant brother, Johnnie Wayne Gormley and step-father, Robert Detrich.

The family has chosen cremation. There will be a private graveside service at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions in his name be made to the Talmage Historical Society, they may be left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas 67401.
